GENERAL INFORMATION
The ancient city of Caesarea is one of the greatest archaeological treasures of the entire Mediterranean. Herod the Great in honour of Roman emperor, Augustus Caesar, created this giant city and port 2000 years ago. Much of the Roman city remains, including an aqueduct, theatre, as well as acres of excavated houses.
Today Caesarea is a town devoted to tourists and to luxurious living.

Caesarea offers a series of restaurants with a variety of cuisine, and on Fridays and Saturdays in season some restaurants also have dancing.
The famous Roman Theatre has concerts, entertainment extravaganzas, and the annual International Opera Festival, which has featured among others Dame Kiri Te Kanawa the opera diva.

Caesarea is the home of Israel’s only 18-hole golf course (designed by the renowned Robert Trent-Jones).
